Q. You came really close, Alex. How close was that from your perspective as you crossed the line?

ALEX BOWMAN: Yeah, I was pretty sure William had us but we're going to let them debate it. Obviously a couple more hundred feet and obviously we had the run. Just so proud of everybody at Hendrick Motorsports. It's 40 years to the day since they ran their first race. To get a Hendrick Motorsports one-two, have the 24 car in Victory Lane, obviously I wish it was our ally 48, but it was a great day for us.

Proud of everybody. We did everything we could right. I feel like I made a couple mistakes early and kind of learned throughout the day, and when I came down to the end I feel like I made the right moves, having to go up and block the top lane at the end with three to go there, that slowed us down and kind of killed the momentum of the middle.

Still second place in the Daytona 500, HMS one, two, great for Chevy and everybody involved. Still wish it was one better, but still proud of the whole team.
