WOMEN'S AMATEUR ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

February 3, 2024

Avani Prashanth

Pattaya, Thailand

Quick Quotes

Q. Avani, I'm sure not the day that you were hoping for. Wasn't all bad out there. Can you assess the round for us?

AVANI PRASHANTH: I mean, I hit probably every fairway, but my approaches were just either too long or too short. Everything in the line of the pin, which is very frustrating.

I mean, I couldn't convert after hitting it that far off. Otherwise, it's a good thing that I hit all fairways. Hopefully, tomorrow is better, and I'll just go work on my approaches now.

Q. Still plenty of positives, as you say. There were a lot of girls that went low today. I know you have that in you. Tomorrow that must give you some confidence as well.

AVANI PRASHANTH: Definitely does. I know that I can shoot low. After hitting every fairway, I gave myself a chance on every single hole. I have to get my approaches close, and I'll start making a lot more putts. That should get me my low round tomorrow.

Q. Is the mindset to just be aggressive?

AVANI PRASHANTH: Yeah, I've got nothing to lose, just go for the kill on every hole.
