AUSTRALIAN OPEN

January 20, 2024

Shang Juncheng

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Press Conference

C. ALCARAZ/S. Juncheng

6-1, 6-1, 1-0 [Ret.]

THE MODERATOR: Not the way you want to end the match today, but what did you learn from this match against Carlos? Also, can you briefly tell us what you went through with your leg.

SHANG JUNCHENG: Yeah, just starting the match, I started with the tape. Wasn't feeling the best, but I thought that, you know, I could maybe give it a push, play a decent amount of time of good tennis.

But today, you know, it's not meant to be. I also hated finishing this way. It's not pleasant for me or the opponent.

Obviously Carlos was a way better player today, and, I mean, it's fun sharing the court with him. Hopefully I can recover soon from this.
