HILTON GRAND VACATIONS TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

January 20, 2024

Jeremy Roenick

Orlando, Florida, USA

Lake Nona Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Jeremy Roenick leading the celebrity division by two points today over Annika and Derek Lowe. Can you tell us a little bit about your round?

JEREMY ROENICK: It was stressful. You know, for us guys to be playing in a golf tournament like this and be in the lead and playing in front of people, it's really difficult.

So it was a little bit stressful. I made a couple really bad swings but made a couple amazing swings to kind of come back at the end.

So I held together what could have been a disastrous round. Held it together.

Q. Are you excited to enter the final round with the lead? How do you feel about that?

JEREMY ROENICK: I don't know. I was nervous going into today with the lead, not to mention what's going to happen tomorrow. You know, today was good; tomorrow I'm going to feel a little bit more comfortable knowing what to expect.

So it's good.

Q. Just kind of you say you got a few good swings coming in that kept you going. I saw a nice tee shot into 17. What were some of the highlights?

JEREMY ROENICK: Hit a good shot into 17 and thought I made the putt for birdie. Hit a bad shot on 18 but I made a good putt to save it.

So my whole round was kind of hit or miss, right? I guess if you go into a Saturday, you want to make sure that you just stay in it. I made like 31, 32 points, which was pretty good, knowing that you're in the lead and not knowing -- I don't like being in the lead very much, so it's good.

Q. It sets up as a really good finish. All the people you expect to be there are there it seems on the celebrity side.

JEREMY ROENICK: I'm going to be way more comfortable tomorrow than I was today, because today you could have lost it; tomorrow you can win it.

Q. Yeah.

JEREMY ROENICK: So I really was more nervous today than I think I'll be tomorrow. So that's good.

Q. Do you ever equate any of our hockey experiences to your golf experiences? Would tomorrow be Game 7 and it's all or nothing?

JEREMY ROENICK: No. Everything is about staying composed, and when I played hockey I wasn't so composed.

It's kind of a new thing for me, but we're good. I'm happy with where I am. I battled really hard. I think I did some pretty good things today that I had never done on the golf course, which I think is really going to help me tomorrow.

I feel really good about tomorrow.
