THE ANNIKA DRIVEN BY GAINBRIDGE AT PELICAN

Quick Quotes

Q. Joined now by Patty Tavatanakit. Another bogey-free round here at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. What was working so well for you today?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I think my scoring was really, really, really well today. I felt like that was a really great round, but I feel like with my off the tee shot it was still like a 75%, but I kind of just suck it up and just hit every shot with confidence and commitment, so that worked out really well.

Q. Was there anything that maybe just clicked for you during your round as you made the turn? Went bogey-free, but two birdies on the front compared to however many you had on the back, a ton. Was there anything that clicked for you during your round to help you along?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: It was just on a good roll, good momentum. Kept executing and hitting good shots, and putts were dropping today.

Q. What was the mindset as you headed into this round after not as well as you kind of did yesterday?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Really thankful for yesterday's round. I learned a lot. Like a great learning round, which I would say is why I was able to do what I did today.

Q. How have you learned to bounce back from those kind of rough days?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: It's golf and life, and I feel like you just got to keep your head down and keep pedaling. Regardless of the outcome, just know in your heart that you did your best and that's all you can really do.

Q. Obviously first round played super well; yesterday, eh, one of those days. Today, when you have to flip that switch mentally again to get yourself out of, crap, I played bad to something like today, how do you do that?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I think I was trying a little harder yesterday and it played tougher because of the wind, and it being an afternoon round.

But today I was just kind of like just go out there and say, F it and just play golf. Trust everything that I've worked on the past couple of months.

So, yeah.

Q. How excited are you to be in this position? One round left here. Big event. How excited are you to be at this spot?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Very excited. Really thankful to be here, and I feel really grateful that I am able to be back in this position again and able to hunt something down tomorrow. I think it'll be really fun.

Got to not keep trying.

Q. Still work with Pia and Lynn?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah.

Q. I remember when you won the ANA they had given you some good thoughts. What have they told you recently that's been helpful?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Haven't talked to them much, but there's been texts exchanged. Just doing the same things that I did well. And keep writing down what was good and just focusing on the good and just we'll see what happens.

Q. What have you written down lately?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Not sure. I wrote down a lot. I can't remember off the top of my head right now. Just a lot of good stuff.

Q. What part of your game are you most pleased with right now?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I think the flow. My iron play has been phenomenal I would say. It's been really good for a while. I feel like this week has really like put an exclamation mark on it, like I'm hitting well again.

Q. You work with Chris Mason?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Not anymore.

Q. Who do you work with now?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I've been seeing Dennis Kwon, the guy in Orlando. He's helped out a bit and it's been working out really good, yeah.

Q. Is there one swing thought that's helped your iron game in particular?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I don't know. I just go up and hit the shot.

Q. That sounds simple enough.

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Yeah.
