Pelican Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, I'm here with Minami Katsu after the second round at The ANNIKA. Great round today again. What were the differences you saw in your round today versus yesterday?

MINAMI KATSU: Yeah, not much difference between yesterday. I felt like there was a bit of win today so I was kind of telling myself, wind is going to be my friend for today. That kind of made...

Q. Yeah, and you made several birdies again today. How hard are these greens out here with handling the wind, just some of the slopes that you see?

MINAMI KATSU: You know, to be honest, I didn't really think too much about the wind when I was on the green.

I was really concentrating on how the green looked. I really just follow how it looked, and that really made sense.

Q. And you're two shots behind the current leader now headed into tomorrow. This is just the morning wave. What experience do you have in this position trying to chase the leader? Do you have any experience in that position?

MINAMI KATSU: You know, not trying to -- I'm not thinking of trying to catch up to the leader. Just trying to focus on my game. Focus on each of my shots. I think that's really important for me.

Q. And then last question: We're at the end of the season here. What has been your favorite memory or moment on or off the golf course so far this year? You can have more than one.

MINAMI KATSU: So it's kind of off from golf, but my favorite baseball team in Japan, they won the Japan title. Last time they won this title was 36 years ago, so that's a big motivation for me and something I will cherish for a long time.
