November 5, 2023

Jiyai Shin

Omitama, Ibaraki, Japan

Taihelyo Club Minori Course

TV

JIYAI SHIN: Starting in the morning, after seven hole, I shot a two from the fairway, and then...

Q. What did you use for the second shot?

JIYAI SHIN: Well, it was 77 yards to the pin and I used 54 degree wedges, and then exactly like five, six years ago, I had the same shot with a two. So before just hit it I thinking, maybe, maybe I have a good memory, so maybe. And then they in, and so to make like my tensions going up.

Q. Got you going. Certainly got us excited in the commentary box, seeing your name rocket up the leaderboard. What did you think you had to do? What number do you think is going to be good enough to win this afternoon?

JIYAI SHIN: I tried to get 10-under today, but I'm pretty happy with my score today.

And then the wind direction is different than last three days, so that's why playing a little bit different. We need different course management, and then it works today.

Q. Is certainly did. Super round of 65. One question we wanted to ask you, what motivates you? You won 64 times around the world. What keeps you going?

JIYAI SHIN: I'm still hungry. Well, I know the feeling, the winning feeling, so I still want it.

And then now you can see a lot of fans, a lot of crowd here, so they every week cheer for us. So that's why. I'm not alone, that's why I do my best, still doing.
