BMW LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

October 21, 2023

Atthaya Thitikul

Busan, South Korea

LPGA International Busan

Quick Quotes

Q. A bogey-free 66. What was working so well out there for moving day?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Yeah, I had a really good round today. The putter was better than yesterday. I mean, I had a lot of chances yesterday, too, but didn't put it in. But today still had really good approaching shots, a lot of chance, but rolling it in one on yesterday.

Q. Where were some of those putts going in more? We saw the three birdies in your first I think four or five holes today. How much did that kick start kind of the momentum of this round?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Yeah, it's kind of nice, but, I mean, like I hit it pretty close as well, but just like had a chance to make more than yesterday. But obviously today was pretty good round. The line was like matching with what I see more than yesterday. And hopefully it's matching for tomorrow as well.

Q. How close did you hit it on those first three birdies?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: I think the first one was like nine feet, and then the second -- what's the second? The second was like five feet. And the last one, not close. The third one is like maybe 15 -- 18, 15 to 18.

Q. Two birdies, and you're closing holes as well. What suited your game about those closing holes for you?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: 17, it's an 8-iron hole, which is like reachable hole. So I think it's -- it's like more chance. I mean, like we can hit the first tee shot on the greens. So I hit it close. Actually, I hit it on the green, but didn't hole the putt. Just like had a nice and easy birdie. But on 18 I hit it close, which just put it in.

Q. I know you're on the Aon leaderboard. Is that something that you've looked at the last couple of events as you've been playing?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Yeah, I think the one that Aon, that's a big change, that'll be huge, you know, everything in kind of life changing for everyone, I guess. I'll put an iron on that as well. I mean, last year I got second. And then this year I'll be at contention.

So hopefully. I don't know. What I can do best is try my best on that hole. Especially on that hole.

Q. Overall, this has really kept you in contention. No one truthfully is at the top running away with it. What is it about this event that you like coming to and play so well? I know it's a different course from last year, but we saw your name at the top of the leaderboard last year after 54 holes at Oak Valley. What is it about coming back to Korea and playing so well?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: I mean, like I always love coming back to Korea. Like this year I already play once in Korea, which is KLPGA. Had a really good memory again, you know, hold the course record again, and, yeah, that was couple months ago.

And, yeah, Korea seem like my second home. I mean, I love Korean scenery. I love Korean food. I love hearing everyone speaking Korean because it seems like it's serious. So, yeah, I know, it's a good sign being here in Korea. And if it's have a tournament in Korea, I'd definitely come back.

And then the crowds is amazing. I mean, like shouting and then they're yelling, they're cheering at us, which is like unbelievable how they support golf.

Q. And I know you're a big foodie, as you said. What has been your favorite thing that you've eaten this week here in Korea?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: It's a lot. I mean, it's a lot. But I'll give it to Korea barbecue, which is basic, and then it's easy to find everywhere. Tteokbokki always my favorite. I haven't had Jajangmyeon this week. I think I should go get it.
