LIV GOLF JEDDAH

October 14, 2023

Bryson DeChambeau

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Crushers GC

Royal Greens Golf & Country Club

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: We're joined by Bryson DeChambeau, captain of Crushers GC. Currently tied fourth place at 8-under. You shot 7-under today. Tell us a bit about your round.

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, it was about shooting low today, as low as I could. I knew Brooks and a few others were going to play well, and I needed to get it deep today.

I did that, but I would have liked to have finish off with a birdie or two coming in, have a better chance. But being four back as it is, this golf course, you can definitely do it.

All I'm focused on tomorrow is winning this tournament, and the rest will take care of itself. The job is not even close to being done. We've got 18 more holes.

Q. Crushers are really the trending team at the minute, coming off a win in Chicago, leading at 22-under par this week in Jeddah. Things are shaping up well ahead of next week's final in Miami. I think only 10 points behind the 4 Aces. What's the game plan the next two weeks?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Just have the boys keep playing the way they are. They're a special bunch of guys, and they know how to get the job done when it matters.

This year is going to be a lot different than last year, I believe, if we bring this form into next week. Very excited for the guys and seeing what we can do next week in Miami.

Q. Bryson, it seems like the projections change with every hole, every --

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: And by the way, I don't want to know what I'm at. I just want to go play and I want to do my best tomorrow.

Q. I assume that you weren't really paying much attention or you didn't --

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: I saw where Talor Gooch was. I don't know what the points necessarily need to be. I've got to keep my mindset focused on winning the golf tournament tomorrow. I'm four behind, and I've got to catch Brooks.

Q. You and Brooks have had obviously a lot of competition throughout the years. You've been paired together quite a bit. How difficult will that be on this course with him being a defending champ?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, he knows how to play this golf course really well. This wind is pretty steady and consistent. He likes this wind. It definitely becomes more of a cutter's golf course out here when this type of wind comes into play, so he definitely has that advantage. But again, I'm going to go out and shoot hopefully 7-, 8-under tomorrow and do my best. That's all I can do and can't focus on anybody else. If I don't, I don't. It is what it is. It's been a great year, and going to keep playing the way I am.

Q. For tomorrow, you guys, the Crushers are in first place. Are you thinking about the team, or are you just concentrating on your individual win and catching Brooks?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Oh, no, it's about the team. Definitely want to win the team championship and be first in the points list going to Miami. We're that good of a team, and my boys have worked really hard this year. If we play well tomorrow, we definitely deserve to be up in that No. 1 spot. I'm definitely focused on that, focused on playing well tomorrow individually for the Crushers, and just going to give it my all.

Q. Charles Howell III helped you a lot today. He had a great round.

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: He's an unbelievable golfer. He's changed form this last year. He's definitely done something that's allowed him to play some of the best golf of his career, and I'm glad I have him on my team.

Q. In terms of your shots under par and the shots that were on par, what was the difference in your opinion in making those and not making those?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, I think just being comfortable with the wind, the selection of shot, the flight of the shot, and just being able to execute my feel, the way I do it every single time. If I can continue to execute my feel, my results have spoken for themselves this later part of the year.

Q. In your opinion what would be the big difference for tomorrow?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: If I can feel comfortable within myself and execute shots the way I know I can like I did at Greenbrier, like I did the last few rounds in Chicago, I feel like I'm going to give myself a good chance for the individual title and for the tournament this week.
