EPSON TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

October 6, 2023

Jenny Coleman

Daytona Beach, Florida, USA

LPGA International, Jones Course

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Jenny Coleman. Nice round out there today. I know sitting 5th in the Race to the Card right now. Maybe less stress than a lot of other players, but still stress. How good does it feel to get a low one?

JENNY COLEMAN: Feels great. Was hitting the ball well out there and gave myself a lot of birdie chances inside of like nine, ten feet, and just stayed patient.

Q. How much have you been attacking this golf course since it is so soft out there? I feel like scores are so low.

JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, definitely was a little bit easier this morning compared to yesterday afternoon. Less wind. Greens were rolling a little more true.

But, yeah, it's still pretty attackable because the greens are still on the softer side. But, yeah, got to be aggressive.

Q. I know 2022 wasn't really what you were looking for, but you came out here to Epson and have really gotten into a groove; won earlier this year; playing super good golf. What was the mental adjustment to come back out to the Epson Tour and come back out and not only treat it as a place to get back to the LPGA, but really to treat it as a place where you want to compete and win?

JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, it's just sticking to my game plan and just seeing that my game is good enough to compete out here. Just keep carrying it over every week and build confidence.

Q. What does that win do for your confidence?

JENNY COLEMAN: It was awesome. It's finally confirmed that I know I can win out here. I know I have the game. To just do it felt awesome.

Q. How motivated - obviously super motivated I would imagine - but what's the kind of mindset of trying to get back out to the LPGA full time next year?

JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, just keep my strengths my strengths and work on my weaknesses. It's about consistency out there. Got to be playing well week and week out.

Q. What are some of those strengths?

JENNY COLEMAN: Ball striking, approach shots, definitely my strength, especially today. The more birdie chances you can have and the easier pars that you can have, the better.

Q. What have you worked on out here this season in terms of that kind of stuff that you really have seen grow tremendously in a way that, A, maybe helped you win, but also, B, when we get back out there I'm staying out there?

JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, just utilizing my approaches to my advantage. When I'm hitting it well, you got to be aiming at the flags and just throwing darts and just trust it and feel it.

Playing smart when you're not striking it the best, and being patient. Just knowing you have the game. Wait for the putts to drop. Keep going.

Q. I know Kristin is out here this week, too, working her way up the leaderboard. I think 2-under last time I looked. Just how cool is it to share this experience with your sister and you all I'm assuming have been traveling together all here. Sick of each other yet?

JENNY COLEMAN: No, we're all good. It makes it so much easier to be able to book flights together, share rental car, share housing. Just someone to hang out with and go to practice rounds, bounce ideas off. It's just so comfortable and hopefully 2-under does it for the cut.
