ALFRED DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

October 6, 2023

Billy Horschel

Brittany Horschel

St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland

Quick Quotes

Q. So we caught up with you on Wednesday before anything started, so how is it all going now? Still talking to each other? Everything's going well?

BRITTANY HORSCHEL: Yeah, we are good.

BILLY HORSCHEL: We are never going to be bad, trust me. We've gone through more stuff in life than playing together on golf and not agreeing on things. So this is nothing.

We've had a blast the last two days. I've given her a couple bad clubs, a couple bad reads but she played beautiful today. She's sort of behind the 8-ball. She's not getting any shots and she's playing from the senior tees. We weren't expecting that this week but we are making the best of it.

Q. Yesterday you had a great round at Carnoustie?

BILLY HORSCHEL: Yeah, we all know Carnoustie is a very difficult golf course. I got off to a really good start, so that was nice. Whenever you can shoot anything under par at Carnoustie is good but to shoot 7-under that's pretty special.

Q. Still right in it at the moment, joint third, fantastic again today?

BILLY HORSCHEL: Yeah, really good round of golf today. I think unfortunately we may have got the tougher end of the draw this morning by playing in more wind. Though these guys playing later in the day, the wind has died down dramatically compared to what we played in the morning.

Very happy with our round. A little disappointed the way I finished the last two holes but overall a really solid round of golf in some tough conditions early this morning.

Q. And Brittany, you've been playing really well. You were playing off the white tees today. Impressive. How was it for you today?

BRITTANY HORSCHEL: It was good. I hit it better today than I did yesterday so hopefully it will be even better tomorrow. I missed a couple birdie putts today that I would have liked to have so hopefully those will drop tomorrow.

Q. Dream Team for tomorrow?

BILLY HORSCHEL: We are going to have to go really low tomorrow it. The great thing is the weather's bad, or it looks bad, so we can do something magical on St Andrews, and conditions, take their toll on everyone else maybe we'll make the cut as a team. That was our goal, or that was my goal at least. It was her goal.

We knew it was going to be a tall task but we still have a chance going into tomorrow which is all we can ask for.
