Golf Clubs at The Tribute

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Lindsey Weaver-Wright. Lindsey, just what was working so well for you today and then especially on the last through holes where you went birdie, birdie, birdie?

LINDSEY WEAVER-WRIGHT: Yeah, kind of hard starting out. So much rain overnight, it was just really soft. I had over 200 yards on two of the first four holes, so I was just kind of trying to -- like the start is pretty difficult, so I knew if I could just hang in there for that I knew the course would firm up as the sun game out, which it did.

On the last three I just hit putts within ten feet and made them all, yeah.

Q. Yeah. One of the few members here playing this event. How much of a home-course advantage do you feel this week?

LINDSEY WEAVER-WRIGHT: I mean, it's really nice to come to a place I'm so familiar with. Been a member here for four or five years and lived here for three and a half. I mean, I love this place. I think it's such a different golf course than when we usually play. You really have to know -- there is so many nuances to this golf course, so I think it does help to know that and have some prior knowledge.

These greens are really tricky and so undulated, so much grain. I think if you can decipher that, it helps.

Q. We talked off camera, but last time I talked to you, I mentioned it was back in Dow and I mentioned something about playing this. You said, oh, we'll see if I'm playing, and here you are. What's been the buildup ramping back up to finish out the season?

LINDSEY WEAVER-WRIGHT: Yeah, it's been tough, to be honest. I have a lot of different ailments day-to-day it seems like. But, I mean, I've taken the last two weeks with just the mindset that I'm just happy to be out here, lucky my body has allowed me to take it this far into pregnancy. I'm seven months pregnant today.

Yeah, it's crazy, but, I mean, I feel good. Today I didn't even -- I bring a chair with me so I can sit down between shots because my back hurts so bad, but I didn't need it today, so that was kind of a milestone for me.

But, yeah, I'm just trying to enjoy my last two weeks out here. I don't think I'll return until maybe March, so just kind of trying to enjoy it.

Q. What is the excitement level for the baby? Have you talked to any other moms on tour? Have they given you any advice?

LINDSEY WEAVER-WRIGHT: Yeah, I talked to quite a few girls just to see what it's going to be like, just see their experiences. Overall everyone has had a pretty positive experience in being out here with daycare and all the resources we have now. Makes it so much more accessible to be a mother, which think is amazing.

Yeah, my husband and I are really excited. He was out here for my front nine. Yeah, just keep saying like, can you believe this is my last tournament like before we have a baby? Yeah, we're really excited.
