THE ASCENDANT LPGA BENEFITING VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA

October 5, 2023

Azahara Munoz

The Colony, Texas, USA

Golf Clubs at The Tribute

TV

Q. 22 putts in only 18 holes today.

AZAHARA MUNOZ: I did chip in twice. I forgot to tell you that.

Q. But the putter must have been rolling as well. Two chip-ins helps. What has been going on with your putting? Something specific or better today?

AZAHARA MUNOZ: I've been putting much better lately. I just haven't been able to put both things together, like ball striking and putting together.

Yeah, today was really nice. Didn't get myself in trouble. It's a bit deceiving because I did miss a few greens by a couple feet so I was still putting, but doesn't count as a putt.

Yeah, just trying to be more reactive, just see the line, and go with it. I feel like sometimes having so many doubts kind of hurts me, so just trying not to even have time to have those doubts, just hit the putt.

Q. Speaking of that, this time of year a lot of players trying to position themselves for next year. How do you balance the meaning of what one of these week domestically means for next year?

AZAHARA MUNOZ: Yeah, it's hard. I feel like this is the first time in my career that I'm around 100th mark, so I have three events left so I have to have good finishes to secure my card. It is tough when you think about it. It's probably not a good thing, so I try not to.

Obviously it's in the back of my mind, but once I'm on the course I try to enjoy the day and do my best.
