Quick Quotes

Q. Gemma, your first match as a Solheim Cupper, a chip-in. Take us through that big moment.

GEMMA DRYBURGH: 16, I didn't hit my approach shot very good, but I think I did it on purpose so I could get the big moment. Chipped it in from like 30 yards. It went perfectly in, perfect speed. So it was a nice birdie. And then Rose put a birdie in right on top of me, but it was a great match back and forth.

Q. A lot of fans out there today. What was the fan experience like for you? Did you expect to see so much blue and yellow and red?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, it's very nice to have the home support, obviously, in my first experience, but it's great to have all the cheers on every hole and it pumps you up, but sometimes you just need to calm yourself down.

Q. How does it feel to recover in the afternoon after what happened this morning and the feelings you have?

(Crowd noise.)

What did we just witness there?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Leona just hit an amazing short game shot, just a little check into the hole. That was incredible.

MADELENE SAGSTROM: It felt almost like when you holed it. Almost, but not really.

Q. How is it recovering from this morning? I know going down four, not great. But how did you guys recover? What did you say in the team room coming out this afternoon?

MADELENE SAGSTROM: Since we didn't play this morning, we actually were kind of ahead of schedule of everyone, so we did our own thing and I think we really took care of our own business. We didn't let the other score kind of affect us. So we focused on our own game and on our on match and I think that helped us.

Q. (No microphone.)

MADELENE SAGSTROM: You don't ever wish bad on your opponents, but we felt like we deserved the tie. So I think we're both pretty pleased. It was a grind, but we hit a lot of good shots, a lot of good putts, so I think we're still very happy with the outcome.

Q. Your first taste of Solheim Cup. We saw a lot of smiles around the course. How much did you enjoy it as well as obviously focusing on what you were doing out there?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, I loved every minute of it. That chip-in on 16 was the pinnacle, but I had to calm myself down for the next hole, so that was a new experience for me. But I loved every minute of it and really enjoyed playing with Madelene.

Q. It was a really tough morning for Europe. What was the message going out for the afternoon?

MADELENE SAGSTROM: I think the message has been all week -- we actually didn't really get to talk about it. We knew our pairing before we started today, so we also knew that we're only going to focus on our match. We can't control what anybody else is doing.

So we knew that if we go out and play our hearts out, that hopefully we can bring home a point or half a point for Europe, and I think that's just what we did. We can't focus on the past, so I think that we're all just going to have to sleep on it for tonight and go out tomorrow and be stronger.
