Quick Quotes

Q. Allisen, congratulations. That was quite the battle to watch. What was it like just finishing it off on 18?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I mean, Nelly put me in great spots all day long, so it just felt really good to get the job done.

Q. Nelly, you've openly talked about how you wanted to get your revenge on Leona Maguire. You've done it now. How tough was it? Because on 17, she made it pretty difficult for you.

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, she's a very tough competitor. I think playing against her in Solheim Cup or any match play event head-to-head, she brings a lot of fire to the table. So I'm happy that we got the W, that Allisen made the putt that I left her on 18, and that we have a lot of red on the board.

Q. Allisen, you're a rookie, but Nelly, you've had two games away and one at home. For you, what was it like playing here in Spain? Because there was a few American supporters out there. We saw the American chickens.

NELLY KORDA: We did too actually on one hole. It's crazy because I think you actually hear the chants way more when you're overseas. You're just grateful that people have come all this way to come out and support you, and we hear them and we appreciate them and we feed off of them.

Q. How was the start?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: It was great. We got off to a bit of a rough start but turned it around pretty quickly, and yeah, played pretty solid all morning.

Q. Nelly, I hear you're very proud of Allisen.

NELLY KORDA: Yes, for sure. For her to come out and make some really clutch putts for us it was great to see. She may be a rookie, but I think she came in really clutch today and she doesn't show that at all.

Q. Did you expect such a strong start for the team?

NELLY KORDA: I think we just kind of stuck to our game, our game plan and believed in each other and we knew that we could have a clean sweep.

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I mean, just really trusting the team, like Nelly said, and just making sure we get our job done.

Q. This is the first time in the history of foursomes that the U.S. has gone 4-0. How just incredible do you feel walking off of this 18 green?

NELLY KORDA: Amazing. I think Stacy feels even better, probably. She's put so, so, so much work into this and she's done an amazing job and hopefully we continue building off of this.

Q. (No Microphone.)

NELLY KORDA: I think everyone that played together has a good chemistry. My partner made some really clutch putts coming in towards the end and we just had a lot of fun. They gave a good fight toward the end, but we held them off.

Q. It came all the way down to the wire, two bigs putts on the last two holes. You won the U.S. Open earlier this summer, but can you describe how different the pressure is playing in situations like this today?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I think just knowing that I am playing for the team and not just myself. There's that added pressure. Just having her (No Microphone.) I mean, it's such much fun. Like, everyone said the first tee was going to be nuts, and then I walked out there and it was somehow even crazier than I expected. But, yeah, had a ton of fun with Nelly out there this morning.

Q. Three rookies were out in this morning's session, you're one of them, and you all brought points home. (No Microphone.) -- in that you're so experienced. What was that experience like that you brought to today?

ALLISEN CORPUZ: I think it helps, like Nelly said, the team chemistry's been great all week and I think just knowing that she's a veteran and she's such a great player just definitely gave me a lot of confidence.

Q. Nelly, you guided her around very well.

NELLY KORDA: I didn't need to (laughing).

Q. This is now your third Solheim Cup. What has this experience been look for you now that you're kind of quote a veteran?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, it's crazy. It's been so much fun. Anytime I get to represent the stars and stripes it's the biggest honor. I've had more away games than at home, so I'm kind of used to the crowd being against us, but I think we fed off of the USA chants. We found the USA chants in the crowd and we just fed off that.
