Ludvig Aberg

Virginia Water, Surrey, England

Wentworth Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. A 66, tied for the overnight lead. What were you pleased with today?

LUDVIG ABERG: Definitely pleased with the way I hit my irons and my wedges. I felt like as soon as I got myself in the fairway, you know, I felt like I had some control on the flight today and the trajectory I was really pleased with that for sure.

Q. Every step of your professional career now, you've taken like a duck to water, and you've just played two days with Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland, leading the biggest event on the DP World Tour. Are you pinching yourself?

LUDVIG ABERG: Like I said yesterday, for me to play with those two guys has been a lot of fun and a new experience for me. I'm trying to take everything I can and learn from it because obviously they have done so much so successfully in this game, and I'm trying to pick up some things that they are doing as well.

It was a little bit nerve-wracking both yesterday and today, but I'm proud of the way I handled it and looking forward to the next couple days.

Q. When is the last time you finished in near pitch darkness?

LUDVIG ABERG: Probably when I played with my friends at home. It was kind of a weird finish, but it is what it is. We just try to get done as soon as we could to avoid an early morning.

Q. You managed to find three birdies in the closing three holes as the light came to a close, but how do you reflect on today's 66?

LUDVIG ABERG: I thought it was great. It showed that even though I wasn't as sharp off the tee was I would want to, I still was able to find a good score. Really pleased with my irons and my wedges. Felt like I gave myself a lot of chances. Was striking the ball quite well. Looking forward to the next couple days, so it will be a lot of fun.

Q. The chip-in on 14, if it ever there was a place to do it on the course, it's there.

LUDVIG ABERG: Absolutely, it's weird, because normally I would have putted it but I had my pitch-marker right in my behind so I couldn't put it. So I had to chip it over and came out a little bit hot but knowing behind it, it's going to be about 60 yards left. Luckily it went in. It was quite a cool experience.
