Wentworth Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Incredible round on any day but here at the BMW PGA Championship, given the way the course is playing, that's really something. Tell us how you did that today.

SEBASTIAN SÖDERBERG: Just really solid off the tee for the most part and started hitting my irons pretty good and got a few pretty good looks. Yeah, pretty great finish.

Q. Just one Mark on your card on 1, but a bogey there feels like a par, anyway. Turning on to the back nine, with an eagle on 18 where we have seen so many dropped shots, I'm sure at times you're wondering if you were going to finish today?

SEBASTIAN SÖDERBERG: When we got to 17, it felt like this was no problem but it was a lot of wait on 17 and a lot of wait on 18. I guess I was just trying to give myself some decent looks and just get on the finish line and yeah, happened to hit a couple of really good shots and a good putt on the last.

Q. What's been the biggest obstacle around Wentworth generally? Seems like the rough is thicker and there's a bit more nuance to where you leave the ball on the right side of the pin?

SEBASTIAN SÖDERBERG: Generally you have to be good off the tee. It's tough to get close to pins and make birdies if you're in the rough and then if you miss it in the wrong spots around the greens, some really tough up-and-downs. For the first two days, I managed to miss on the right side for the most part and got up-and-down.

Yeah, you just hit the fairway.

Q. You're not shy to compete and not shy for the big occasion. You were second in Abu Dhabi at the beginning of the season. How do you feel going into this big event with the big crowds?

SEBASTIAN SÖDERBERG: It's going to be a lot of fun. It kind of feels like it came from nowhere. Struggling a little bit last week on the weekend and has not felt great at the start of this week. Just trying to find some contact contact with my irons and they have kind of been going everywhere. So I guess some of that work finally paying off and starting to hit some quality shots. It's a huge tournament. The whole Ryder Cup squad is here. It's going to be a lot of pressure and I'm going to try to enjoy it as much as I can.
