Vincent Norrman

Straffan, County Kildare, Ireland

The K Club, Ryder Course

Quick Quotes

Q. Many, many congratulations, you started the day six shots behind and shot a brilliant 65 to win this historic championship, what does it mean to you?

VINCENT NORRMAN: It means everything. Obviously such a cool event to play. The fans have been incredible. I've really had a fun week.

Q. What were you thinking and feeling that 90 minutes you had to wait to see if you had done enough with other people controlling your fate?

VINCENT NORRMAN: I think I was a little lucky there. Obviously got some good practise done on the range, which is good, and obviously it's a long wait but yeah, super happy.

Q. We spoke earlier about the fact that you made six birdies in eight holes. There are always tee shots, turning points in the round. What were they today?

VINCENT NORRMAN: The front nine was huge. I was playing so-and-so and then I birdie 7 and 9 to get some momentum going into the back. I think that was key today.

Q. You're projected to go to 7th in The Race to Dubai and 76 in the World Rankings. Does this feel like it's a platform to build a new level in your career?

VINCENT NORRMAN: Yeah, of course. Winning is -- obviously if you win, you're doing something good. It's a world-class event, and honestly I can't believe it's happened.

Q. How are you going to celebrate this win?

VINCENT NORRMAN: Probably go out for dinner with my caddie, Sean, and then yeah, fly to Wentworth tomorrow.

I feel like I played pretty good all week, and then putting has been so-so, so I was just trying to go out and attack the pins and make some birdies.

Q. What impact, if any, did the delay have on you? You played your last 12 holes 7-under. It was almost like you hit the reboot button?

VINCENT NORRMAN: Yeah, I birdied 7 and 9 to get something going in the round, and I went back into dining and had a coffee and kind of found something on the range I think. Kind of flushed it and off we went.

Q. How much leaderboard watching did you do? What sense did you have of where you were and maybe what you needed for everyone to catch?

VINCENT NORRMAN: I didn't look too much at the leaderboards. I mean, a few people came out towards the end and I was on a good run. On 18, I knew I needed something good there.

Q. How much did you lean on Barbasol when you were victorious two months ago about doing something on a Sunday?

VINCENT NORRMAN: I learned so much that day, probably the most I've ever done in my career. It's just golf at the end of the day, but obviously I love playing golf, and I'm having the time of my life out there.

Q. What did you prove to yourself today, now two wins in just under two months' time?

VINCENT NORRMAN: That I can actually play long at this stage maybe. It's a world-class event. Yeah, I'm just enjoying being out here.
