Q. Just assess your round.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I played really solid. Hit a lot of greens. Felt like I was putting from difficult places today, but I hit a lot of good putts. I felt like I could have done a lot better than 1-under, but no bogeys around this place is always pretty good.

Q. Was that maybe the biggest thing, that your approach shots weren't in spots where you could be aggressive with some putts?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, it's easier said than done when you're watching it on TV. These greens have a lot of pitch. No. 10 is a good example I would say. 9 and 10 are good examples where they both have false fronts, so you want to put the ball -- on No. 9 you want to put it short left, but there's a false front there. There's only two paces to put the ball there. On 10, it's the same situation. Like you see Jon hit a good shot in there on 9, and then he hit a good shot in there on 10 and it spins all the way off the green.

It's just hard to put the ball in the right spots to get the uphill putts. I think my strategy today was really good the way I was hitting it, just trying to get as many looks as possible, ball was just dodging the cup.

Q. Did you feel like you misread the one on 3? Looked like it maybe didn't break as much as you thought.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: No, Teddy said it hammered a spike mark about a foot and a half off the club head. That was 3, yeah.

Q. It felt like you could have been 5-under after 5. A lot of your putts were really short. Is it the greens? Is it the difficulty of the greens out here?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Well, there's just a lot of slope in the greens. When you're hitting a lot of greens, I think you can't make every putt. I'd love to, to be perfect, but that's not really an attainable thing in golf.

Q. Do you like your position after two rounds, and do you really even worry about your position until Sunday?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, I like being in first.

Q. That would be an okay spot, yes. But you've got 36 holes left.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I'm not upset. Like I said, I wish I was in first place, but I'm not. I'm in the tournament, so yeah, I'm pleased with that part of it. But I obviously wish I was further up the leaderboard.
