DOW GREAT LAKES BAY INVITATIONAL

July 21, 2023

Celine Boutier

Yuka Saso

Midland, Michigan, USA

Midland Country Club

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Here with Celine Boutier and Yuka Saso, Team Eiffel Power. Another pretty solid round out here for you guys today. How happy are you with this round, and how much are you looking forward to the chase tomorrow?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, I mean, I feel like we definitely left a lot of shots out there. It wasn't our best on either side, but we kind of hung in there, stayed patient, and hopefully we can go tomorrow and finish on a good note.

THE MODERATOR: Yuka, with an alternate shot format being pretty tricky, how good is just getting a par out there? How important is that?

YUKA SASO: We wanted a birdie round.

CELINE BOUTIER: It depends on the hole.

YUKA SASO: Yeah, it depends on the hole. Yeah, it's very difficult because the wind switched from yesterday. It was opposite wind.

Yeah, I think we hung in there and try to be patient, but yeah.

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, a few more birdies would have been welcome.

THE MODERATOR: Of course. You two had one of the best four-ball rounds yesterday. So with four-ball again tomorrow, are you going to chase that again, be aggressive? Do you feel comfortable with four-ball now having that on the last day?

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, definitely. I feel like foursome is a little bit more conservative just because you only have one ball in play, but the fact that tomorrow is going to be four-ball is a little bit more aggressive probably, and we'll try to both get at it and get as many birdies as we can.

THE MODERATOR: Questions?

Q. I've been asking all the pros what they thought about the walk-up music. That's more of a baseball thing you hear walk-up music. How did you pick your song? Who got to pick the song that played when you walked on to 18? How would you kind of describe the feeling walking up to 18 with your walk-up song?

CELINE BOUTIER: We thought it was fun, and we both liked --

YUKA SASO: We picked it together.

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, we chose it together.

YUKA SASO: Pretty good.

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, it's kind of fun. I feel like it was kind of cool that they also announced our team name and stuff because --

YUKA SASO: It was pretty cool.

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, because we were pretty proud of it.

YUKA SASO: We thought about it.

Q. Eiffel Power, is that you that...

CELINE BOUTIER: I don't even know.

YUKA SASO: We both thought about it; right?

CELINE BOUTIER: I can't remember.

YUKA SASO: We thought about it for two months, so it should be good.

Q. Why did you pick the song? What did you like about that song? Is that a song that you maybe work out to or train to? What do you like about the song that you picked?

CELINE BOUTIER: Just the beat is nice. What?

YUKA SASO: Yeah, it's good. It's good.

CELINE BOUTIER: Yeah, just sing along and good energy.

And something we both like that's not the easiest. That's why we had to go back and forth so that we liked the song as equally as possible.

Yeah, I feel like it was pretty good choice, and even walking there, we kind of were pretty happy with it, I think.

THE MODERATOR: Thanks, ladies.
