Q. Tell me about the round. It was a good start, a lot of birdies, kind of a trip on the par-5 and then you recovered.

SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, overall I played well. Played really well. The par-5 was a bad double. Kind of tried to force it out of the bunker and ended up plugging, so then I had to hit it out of the bunker sideways and it was a mess.

Had a similar situation on 18 and did the right thing. Just hit it out sideways and fortunately chipped in. Overall I'm really happy with it.

Q. In general this week, even par on a Thursday in an Open, it's a good start?

SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, I'll take it, especially this course is not easy. It's not easy. I'll take even par on this one any day.
