Q. Nasa Hataoka, 3-under 69. Congratulations. How do you feel you played overall? It was kind of a tough start for you today.

NASA HATAOKA: Yeah, I had tough front nine today. First two hole made a bogey. But I'm very happy to made a four birdie back side.

Q. Can you tell me about how you overcome the bogeys and got yourself going in the right direction?

NASA HATAOKA: I hit short side first two holes and that was very tough shot, so actually was good bogey on first hole.

So it was just hanging there.

Q. And then the four birdies on the front side, your second nine, you birdied 2, 4, 6, 7. Can you talk about some of those birdies?

NASA HATAOKA: Yeah, my iron shots getting better on back side, so especially my putting was good.

Q. And what is it like to play at Pebble Beach and what was the most challenging part today?

NASA HATAOKA: I play in the morning, but the back side is kind of wind starts blowing, so my irons distance controls was okay on back side.

Q. Did you know much about Pebble Beach before you came here?

NASA HATAOKA: I watch TV PGA TOUR and U.S. Open. Yeah, it looks really tough, but I'm really enjoying right now.

Q. Is it prettier than it looked on TV?

NASA HATAOKA: It's tough. It's really challenging golf course.
