Quick Quotes

Q. Seven birdies today. That's a lot of birdies on this course.

JEFF MAGGERT: It is, yeah. But you know, there's some short holes out here where you can take advantage with some wedges, and that's what I did today.

Holes like No. 2 are tough. I bogeyed there.

6 is another tough hole, but I played well the first day and today.

In between it's just missing a lot of fairways and greens, and that was a lot of bogeys and a few doubles along the way too.

Q. You made a nice putt for par to finish. The putter had to be working a little bit.

JEFF MAGGERT: Today I putted well, made the little par saves here and there, which you're going to have. Make some nice six, seven footers to save par probably three or four times today. So it was good. It's nice to leave on an under-par score than leaving on a 6-over.

Q. You won this championship. What will the leaders see coming down the stretch? And how will they have to handle their emotions to win this thing?

JEFF MAGGERT: The guys on the top obviously have all been there. They know what to do and they know what to expect. I think the guy who drives it the best today is going to win of those top four guys because, if you drive it well, you're going to eliminate a lot of bogeys hitting them in the fairway.

I haven't watched much golf on television. Bernhard's tough, so if he's driving it well, he's going to be tough to beat. The other guys, Stricker's right in there, Jerry Kelly, all these guys know how to play. So should be fun to watch.

Q. Are there any key holes where you say, hey, you've just got to get your par and get out of there?

JEFF MAGGERT: There's quite a few. The first hole starting out is fairly difficult, but if you hit a good drive there it can be a good birdie hole.

But the 2nd hole is tough.

Then 5, the little, short par-5, you've got to really think. Everyone thinks, oh, hit a good drive here, just shoot for the green. If you don't hit the green in the back bunker, you're going to make bogey. I laid it up the last few days, and it seemed to be better for me.

6, 6 is a tough hole.

9 is the toughest hole this week. That's another hole I birdied the first two days and hit perfect drives and I had wedges.

So if you drive it in the fairway there, all of a sudden it's a birdie hole. But if you drive it in the rough, it's a 5 or a 6.

On the back nine there's birdie holes.

10's a birdie hole, 11.

The pin's really tough on 12 today.

13's a tough driving hole, 14. You've just got to keep putting it in the fairway.
