Q. What kind of experience do you have here?

ANIRBAN LAHIRI: I enjoy playing golf courses like this. One of my favorite tracks back home in India is Delhi Golf Club, which is probably even more brutal than this. That's not slight on Valderrama. I think the challenge here is more 360 degrees, like every part of your game. Delhi Golf Club is probably more off the tee than anything else.

But I love it when you have five-yard targets and you have really small windows and you have to focus and execute shots.

I think it gets me excited, and I think I get in a good mental space, and I think that's kind of what happened today because I was out of position a few times, and I managed to get up-and-down. I just stayed calm.

Q. How many rounds do you have here? How much have you played here?

ANIRBAN LAHIRI: I got 36 holes in, nine holes a day since I got here Sunday night.

Q. But you've played here before?

ANIRBAN LAHIRI: I have not, no, so it was my first competition round. Obviously this west wind is a little bit trickier than what we played Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, which was an east wind. I'm happy with the effort, yeah.

Q. Did you work on anything in the last month?

ANIRBAN LAHIRI: No, I think it was a lot of rest and recovery. There were a few things that have crept into my game from fatigue and travel and things like that. Also saw my coach last year, so there were a few tweaks.

They always seem major before your coach shows up and then you feel like an idiot because it's so simple. I'm glad he came and helped me out, and I feel definitely more settled now going into the next half.

Q. I can't remember what hole you holed out on from just off the fringe --

ANIRBAN LAHIRI: That was my opening hole on 16, so that was nice, yeah. Good way to start.
