KPMG WOMEN'S PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

June 22, 2023

Wichanee Meechai

Springfield, New Jersey, USA

Baltusrol Golf Club

Press Conference

Q. Talk about your round. What went well today?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: I just have a lot of confidence on my shots right now because yesterday I just see my coach, and then he just fixed some little things, and then I have a lot of confidence to hit over the ball and then I can control it, so that's why today it's more confidence.

Q. What were the main obstacles for you? How did you navigate the course?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: I feel like the tee shot is the most difficult here, but I just have to commit to it and then have the confidence over the swing, and then everything is just going to turn out good.

Q. Do you think your power and distance helps you dealing with the rough?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: Yeah, I gained a little bit of distance from last year after I changed my driver, and then it helped a lot. Like all the par-5s I can reach. I have like my irons into the par-5s, so it will help to hit it on the green easier than 3-woods or something like that.

Q. It looks like today might have been the easiest day of the week, so how do you prepare yourself for the rest of the tournament?

WICHANEE MEECHAI: Tomorrow I'm just going to play my game, maybe going to be a little bit nervous, but I'm trying to commit to the shot, every shot that I hit. That's it.
