TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP

June 22, 2023

Adam Scott

Cromwell, Connecticut, USA

TPC River Highlands

Quick Quotes

Q. Adam, overall how would you kind of characterize the day?

ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, really good stuff out there today. Plenty of good shots and I was rolling the putter great, so nice to take advantage of that with hitting a few extra good shots and getting some good looks at birdie and making tons out there.

Q. Talk us through the second shot on 17. You looked perplexed. You hit a good shot and just didn't go.

ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, I don't really have the answer for you. I can only speculate. The wind was just moving around a little bit the last few holes between kind of east and northeast and north and no wind, and felt like there was none really when I was hitting.

But it came up well short, so maybe got caught in something, because the next shot the same club went 15 yards further. So, yeah, I really don't know.

It's a shame, but it's hard to be disappointed with 62.

Q. When you made that putt on 15, birdie on 15, did you start to think a little bit about sub-60?

ADAM SCOTT: I think if I made eagle on 15 it was really right on.

You know, no, I didn't really. I was just trying to just keep doing what I was doing out there.

It was all going really nicely and I wasn't thinking too much about anything today.

Q. Do you recall making 11 birdies in a round before?

ADAM SCOTT: I think so. I shot 11-under to win the Qatar Masters one year. I think that was 11 birdies that day. It's pretty fun. (Smiling.)

Q. Finally, the last hole, making that putt on the last for birdie, satisfaction of that to finish the round.

ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, it feels a lot better than -- especially after the 17th hole. You know, and maybe the kind of momentum I need to go out tomorrow morning and kind of keep my foot down and try and make as many birdies as I can again tomorrow.
