Q. You're through to the quarterfinals at the Amateur Championship. How are you feeling?

RICHARD TEDER: I'm feeling overwhelmed. It's just unbelievable to get this far.

Q. Coming into this week, did you expect to make it this far?

RICHARD TEDER: I just tried to make it to match play and then ended up getting second in the match play. Now winning three match plays in a row is just unbelievable.

Q. You've had some really big matches today. You of course eliminated John Gough this morning. He was a real home favorite. Can you talk to us about that match?

RICHARD TEDER: Yeah, we both started off quite slow, but in the end, I just made a lot of birdies and won the last three holes in a row to win.

Q. How did you feel at the end of that match?

RICHARD TEDER: Just overwhelmed. Then I saw that my next tee time is in 40 minutes, and I had to cool down and go practice.

Q. What did you do in those 40 minutes? That's a quick turnaround.

RICHARD TEDER: Just hit range balls, hit a few putts, a few chips, and then on to the tee box.

Q. You played Tommy Morrison this afternoon, the last American in the field. I think a lot of people had him going quite deep in the championship, so you've knocked out two big names. That must give you a lot of confidence.

RICHARD TEDER: Yeah, it's just unbelievable to play this well. Both of us actually played really well in the beginning, and then in the end, either I win the hole or we halved. It was just unbelievable.

Q. You of course had to go to extra holes this afternoon to get the job done. What was going through your mind on the 18th and then when you stood on the tee on the first extra?

RICHARD TEDER: I missed a pretty easy putt on 18, so that's not good. Then I went to the first tee box, hit a good first shot, then pulled my wedge and hit an unbelievable flop shot to 50 centimeters to win.

Q. You've had a really nice season this year. You've had, I think, four wins. Did that give you some confidence coming into this championship?

RICHARD TEDER: Yeah, absolutely. I was really confident coming into the stroke play, actually. Then ended up shooting 7-under in the first round, which gave me even more confidence.

Q. What have you been doing that has created this hot streak? Have you been working on anything, or has anything clicked in particular?

RICHARD TEDER: Yeah, I was in Spain for six months with my coach, and then everything has just been going perfectly since then.

Q. What's your coach's name?

RICHARD TEDER: Ulla Karlsson, Swedish guy.

Q. Does he coach anybody else that we would know?

RICHARD TEDER: No.

Q. What were you working on in particular in Spain?

RICHARD TEDER: Mostly putting and then iron shots, ball-striking.

Q. Iron shots and putting are essential for links golf; is that why you were working on that in particular?

RICHARD TEDER: No, my putting has just not been in a good place for the last few years, so I always have to work on putting.

Q. Putting was good today?

RICHARD TEDER: It was all right, yeah.

Q. Looking ahead to tomorrow, do you feel like there might be some nerves on the tee?

RICHARD TEDER: Yeah, absolutely. Obviously I want to win this tournament, and I believe that I can win this tournament. We'll see what happens. I'll try my best.

Q. Obviously there's a lot of opportunities on the line for the winner of this championship, competing in majors and things like that. Is it hard not to let that distract you?

RICHARD TEDER: No, I don't think so. I just have to play my own game and then see where we get. As long as I do my best, there's nothing else I can do.

Q. A quick few questions for some background. What's your natural shot shape?

RICHARD TEDER: A little baby draw.

Q. What's your favorite yardage with your wedges?

RICHARD TEDER: Probably 90 meters.

Q. What's your favorite club?

RICHARD TEDER: My driver.

Q. What's your driver?

RICHARD TEDER: I have a PXG generation 1 driver.

Q. How far do you usually hit that driver?

RICHARD TEDER: About 270 meters carry.

Q. Where is your natural miss?

RICHARD TEDER: Usually left.

Q. What's the greatest strength of your game?

RICHARD TEDER: Ball-striking, irons were just unbelievable this week.

Q. What holes do you particularly like out there at Hillside?

RICHARD TEDER: I like the 18th, actually. It's a very, very good finishing hole, very tough. Quite long, as well.

Q. You'd maybe like to try and get the matches won before the 18th?

RICHARD TEDER: That's a good idea. I'll try that.

Q. Any other holes out there that you like?

RICHARD TEDER: 10 is a very good hole, the par-3. Tight. I like that one, as well.
