Q. You've won your first match here at The Amateur Championship. Are you happy with the way you played?

TK CHANTANANUWAT: Yeah, very, very happy. I made zero bogeys today, four birdies and an eagle, so definitely pretty confident going into the next couple rounds. I'm just glad that I fixed whatever was going on in the first two rounds.

Q. Did you do anything to try and fix it?

TK CHANTANANUWAT: Oh, yeah, most definitely. I was spending 45 minutes on the range. To sum it up, it's basically my set-up. I've had this very bad habit for 13 years where I've stood open with my shoulders and my legs the opposite way. I spent a month fixing it before coming but apparently that habit is really built in me because after two weeks, it's already crept back in.

Q. You just said you spent 45 minutes on the range last night?

TK CHANTANANUWAT: This morning.

Q. So this is a super-long week of golf. That's making it even longer.

TK CHANTANANUWAT: Yeah, but I mean, look, today was 18 holes. I'm very happy I don't have to be in a playoff (preliminary match play round). So I'm going to take recovery maybe slightly more seriously than even practise for next couple days, because if I were to make it to the finals, it's a lot of golf.

Q. You said you had an eagle out there.

TK CHANTANANUWAT: Yeah, that it was hole 5, the par 5. It was a combination of good drive, good approach to six feet.

Q. Okay. So can you talk us through from tee-to-green your club choices and your yardages?

TK CHANTANANUWAT: I had wind right-to-left which is very favourable for me because it just works on that hole, hit a small fade, went right in the fairway. Had 4-iron from 225 yards. It was between 4-iron and 7-wood and I knew it was going to run up and if not, it was an easy chip shot, and my partner he was in the bunker and had to lay up. I said, I'll play it safe, it's either a eagle putt or short eagle chip. It was 4-iron that rolled on to the green. My mom said it hit the pin actually.

Q. Yesterday you were super excited about getting the chance to play match play, and the confidence levels were pretty high. Has it lived up to your expectations?

TK CHANTANANUWAT: Yeah, I think definitely for the first round. I think concentration has to be more than a hundred percent. If anyone is going to win this week, because you can't slip up even for five or six holes. You lose the match, you're out.

Q. Looking ahead to tomorrow, still excited?

TK CHANTANANUWAT: Yeah, very excited. Just going to keep my head down. Like I said, anything can happen. I played amazing today. No one knows what's going to happen tomorrow.
