June 10, 2023

Dino Prizmic

Paris, France

Press Conference

D. PRIZMIC/J.C. Prado Angelo

6-1, 6-4

THE MODERATOR: Congratulations, Dino. How are you feeling after winning your first Grand Slam?

DINO PRIZMIC: For me, it's a big achievement. It's my dream when I was kid. I really happy for myself and for my team and my whole family to won this tournament. I'll keep good work.

THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.

Q. Great tournament. Does it give you an extra sense of pride to be just the second player from Croatia to win the title here?

DINO PRIZMIC: Yeah, for me it's also big pleasure to play on this tournament, and every player here is very good. You need to play every point, every match, very good to win this tournament.

Of course I'm very happy to be second Croatian men to won this tournament.

Q. Congrats. How do you manage the pressure? Because you are the favorite of the tournament. It's always difficult, I think, to be the favorite.

DINO PRIZMIC: For me, every match I have pressure. For me, that's normal, because it's so many peoples around, around the court, and everyone wants to see good tennis.

For me, that's normal. Pressure is normal for tennis.

Q. Congrats. What do you think were the keys today to win that match?

DINO PRIZMIC: I think first is I think I'm very good fighter. Every point, it's like match point. I think this is, for this match it's has been like enough.

I think the key is like I'm good fighter on every point, is like the last one. That's it.

Q. So what are your dreams moving forward? Do you feel like next year at this time you'll be in the men's tournament?

DINO PRIZMIC: Yeah, you know, that's a big thing for me (smiling).

But for now, I need to play more challengers for more experience, because now I won the junior Roland Garros, but it's definitely not enough for men's tennis. It just beginning. I'll continue to play good and work good.

Q. Since your semifinal against Gabriel Debru last year, on which aspects of your game have you progressed the most?

DINO PRIZMIC: I think I have more experiences from my matches from last year. Also, it's a great match against Debru. I lost in third set, but it's also too close to win this match.

But yeah, I think, I don't know, but I think I'm like good fighter, and I need to play more aggressive to play with them.

Q. What do you think you need more to find your place on the professional tour? Like you need more experience to be top 100 for a start or is it something in your game? Because you're already having a pretty good ranking. What's missing you think now to really make the big jump?

DINO PRIZMIC: For me, I think I need to spend a lot of time, more time on the court, more trainings and everything, because every player on ATP like has so many trainings more than me. I think that's for now I think I need to train more and to have more experience on tournament.

Q. You seem very calm today, like you didn't seem to really feel any pressure. Would you say that is true? Were you pretty calm throughout this whole tournament, or were there some nerves?

DINO PRIZMIC: I felt pressure today, but I tried to play just my tennis and to play every point. And pressure, just gone, and I know every time how to play when I have pressure.
