Ludvig Aberg

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Oakdale Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. This professional golf thing is pretty easy. 4-under on your first nine.

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, it was. It was fun.

Q. What did you make of your first official start as a pro out here?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, it was good. Got off to a good start on the front nine. The front nine is a little easier, so you have a few more wedges and a few more opportunities. So I took advantage of it and I feel like I played pretty solid all day so aim really happy with it.

Q. What were the nerves like?

LUDVIG ABERG: I was nervous. I mean, I think it would have been weird if I wasn't nervous. But I tried to embrace it. I tried to view it as something fun. And obviously playing with Matt and Tyrrell as well was a lot of fun too.

Q. What did you make of 18 and how it played and kind of how quirky and different it is?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, 18, it's a decent hole. It's a little bit tricky. Today it was downwind so you could get there in two. It is what it is. I would love to hit driver over the creek, but I can't. So I'll have to settle with an iron. Got up-and-down for a good birdie. So it was fun though.

Q. How did you find the crowds out there today?

LUDVIG ABERG: What's that?

Q. How did you find the crowds out there today?

LUDVIG ABERG: Crowds were great. They were following us for quite a bit. I feel ever since I got here to Canada everyone's been so welcoming and I'm super fortunate to be here and I've felt a lot of support from those guys.

Q. Was there anything you're looking to change heading into the second round?

LUDVIG ABERG: Not necessarily. I feel like I'm in a good spot where I'm hitting the ball kind of how I want to. So there's always, as a competitor and as a golfer there's always stuff that you want to improve on. But game plan-wise I won't change too much. We'll see about the wind and that kind of stuff might throw us around. But it should be fine.

Q. First tee shot as a pro earlier today. Any extra special emotions or anything like that?

LUDVIG ABERG: Well it was so early in the morning I wasn't, I was barely up. So, but it was good. No, obviously, like I said, I was nervous, but I tried to embrace it, tried to have fun with it and it turned out pretty good. I hit the fairway at least, so that was good.

Q. You said you had a good group. Obviously a couple fellow Europeans. Did you guys talk about anything in particular?

LUDVIG ABERG: Yeah, I mean, just normal stuff. Obviously first time I met both of them. So it was cool. They're great guys and hopefully I'll be able to play a lot more round with them in the future.

Q. Did it resonate with you in particular in any way when Rose Zhang goes from college debut and turns out a victory right away?

LUDVIG ABERG: Well, Rose is an unbelievable player and what she did is very special. If I'm anywhere along those lines I'm pretty happy. So obviously she's done a tremendous job and she's going to have a great career. Hopefully, I'll be able to do somewhat different or somewhat similar to what she did, yeah.
