KITCHENAID SENIOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

May 26, 2023

Bob Sowards

Frisco, Texas, USA

Quick Quotes

PGA Frisco

Q. (No microphone.)

BOB SOWARDS: I thought it was going to be 3 and he said it's going to be 2. He said 3-over was tied for 73rd. So it went backwards from when I looked. So instead of trying to lag it I still got it there.

Q. What did you hit in there and how long was the putt?

BOB SOWARDS: 9-iron. I thought it got all the way back to the hole but it was about 35 feet short. I putted well all day, just they were all for pars. So I was hitting it left all day. It's just trouble. Where I hit it today this golf course is very hard.

Q. There's a lot of stuff out there.

BOB SOWARDS: I hit a lot of fairways yesterday.

Q. You said it wasn't that difficult yesterday. After this round --

BOB SOWARDS: If you keep it in play it's very scorable. But if you start hitting it out of play it's difficult.

Q. What's it like to respond with that putt though?

BOB SOWARDS: Well it gives me a lot of confidence going into tomorrow. (Wind noise) I assume, so I'll get out there with little wind. Go to the range and figure out my ball striking now. Hopefully, be able to shoot a low one in the morning.

Q. Did you get it going a little bit on that final nine?

BOB SOWARDS: No, I made two really good putts, two pretty long putts for birdie, but it was still a struggle. I was playing from the left rough all day long and it's just tough.
