THE G4D OPEN

May 11, 2023

Brendan Lawlor

Woburn, England, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. You're still top of the G4D Open leaderboard, another solid round but I know you'll be frustrated at the shots you left out there today?

BRENDAN LAWLOR: Yeah, I hit it so good today again. Lit a lot of fairways, a lot of greens. Had a few silly 3-putts, and a lot of putts from inside five feet I missed, and so probably, looking back on my round, probably could be five shots better, easily. That's just golf. All you can do is play yourself in contention for tomorrow and hopefully they will drop then.

Q. An explanation at all for the missed putts? Can you put your finger on anything?

BRENDAN LAWLOR: I'm going to blame my caddie. No, only joking. You feel like you're hitting good putts and they just don't drop. They hung on the edge. The short putt I missed was maybe a lack of concentration.

But all I can do is try and hit them good and if they go in, they go in, and if they don't, they don't.

Q. Do you have a score in mind for tomorrow that you think might be enough?

BRENDAN LAWLOR: I didn't really look at the leaderboard, but I think Kipp's one behind, so you never know, it could turn into a match-play situation pretty easy. I'm just going to go out with the same game plan, hit fairways, greens, and then hopefully some more putts will drop tomorrow and I can lift the trophy.
