Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Team USA after two wins. Lexi, just clinched with a nice putt there. Take us through the reads and what it means to you to win a match today.

LEXI THOMPSON: I had about, I guess, 10, 12 feet and it was breaking quite a bit, so I played it about two and a half cups out, a little bit uphill, so I knew I could be a little aggressive with it. But I was just trying to give myself a birdie opportunity going into that pin.

Q. Did you know your team had won when you were doing that, or were any thoughts going through your mind about winning the match?

LEXI THOMPSON: I thought that they had won in front of us, and I was just waiting when I was reading my putt. It was definitely a good feeling to have before putting. But I still just was focusing on my read. I knew she had par in, so I could go for the birdie.

Q. Lilia, what were some of the key shots out there to getting another win?

LILIA VU: I think Nelly was playing pretty good, better than I was. But on the last hole, on our 17th hole, we all hit good shots, and Nelly got the par in first and that kind of freed me up to go for the birdie putt.

Q. Nelly, what were some of the highlights of the round for you today particularly?

NELLY KORDA: Yeah, we were 2-down through 2, and honestly we were just kind of attacking pins. It was kind of cold out there, and then we finally got it back to even.

On the back nine we kind of turned it up where we won three in a row, and then after then we lost one, but Lilia made a nice putt on 17 to secure or win.

Overall I think it was a lot of teamwork out there, and it wasn't easy because we were 2-down through 2.

Q. Danielle, enjoying a burger dog, I see. Is that how you're celebrating your match win today?

DANIELLE KANG: No, I was just hungry.

Q. Take us through some of the conditions and the challenges out there today.

DANIELLE KANG: My challenges are probably just trying to be as best of a teammate as I can be for Lexi. I know that just having a par in is freeing her up just to be able to go attack pins and things like that will help her out.

I think my short game has gotten a lot of trust by her now, so like she doesn't even care if I miss greens, she just goes right at the pins. I've noticed that. It's been really good ham and egging today, and it's been a good day.

Q. It seemed like yesterday and today, 13, 14, that stretch was pretty good for you guys. What is it about that part of the course?

LILIA VU: I think it's time to make a move and then we're just aggressive and it worked out that way.

Q. The weather, how much of an impact is it playing conditions like this?

NELLY KORDA: I'm a Florida girl and I get cold pretty easily, but I think making sure you adjust to the weather, clubbing up, talking to your caddie a little more with club selections, and staying warm is key.

Everyone is kind of dealing with it, so you're just trying to stay as patient as possible.

The golf course is tough. It's tough weather and the fairways aren't very wide, and it gets tricky out here, especially if the wind picks up. Trying to stay warm and patient is the key this week.
