LIV GOLF SINGAPORE

Cameron Tringale

Republic of Singapore

Sentosa Golf Club

Hy Flyers GC

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Welcome Cameron Tringale from Hy Flyers GC. Congratulations on an excellent day. You shot 6-under, almost bogey-free round. You had one bogey today and a bunch of birdies. Tell us a little bit about your day.

CAMERON TRINGALE: It was sort of a day where my momentum grew as the day went on. It was a bit of a -- I wouldn't say a slow start, but was on a difficult part of the course to begin, made a lot of pars, made one birdie early, and then I just kind of got hot. I started hitting it close and converted most of the putts, and it was a good day all around.

Q. We had a really long rain delay, obviously didn't seem to impact your game too poorly. What did you do during the rain delay and how did you feel when you went back out there?

CAMERON TRINGALE: Like most people, just sat around and had some lunch and then tried to just stay focused on the golf. I knew I had some good holes left and was able to make two birdies coming in those last four holes. It was a good finish. Just trying to stay focused.

Q. Hy Flyers are at the top of the leaderboard on day one. Obviously you contributed to that. Are you going to do anything as a team tonight, and does this motivate you more for tomorrow?

CAMERON TRINGALE: We'll probably all be pretty tired, so I don't think so. But we're always motivated. It's fun to see our captain playing so well. This golf course is fun. A lot can happen quickly.

We were not really up there, and then the next thing I saw, we were in second. Really fun, fun place, and excited for the next two rounds.

Q. How much history do you have playing here in Singapore? Any at all?

CAMERON TRINGALE: One round of experience so far.

Q. When you were practicing earlier in the week, did you feel like this was a course that you might play pretty well on?

CAMERON TRINGALE: Honestly, not particularly. My game has been feeling good. I've been trending nicely. Played well last week. The state of my game is good, but as far as being a course that really fits my eye, I wouldn't say this is it. But my caddie has been really good about helping me get really clear targets and just trying to put all the distractions, and there's tons of them out here, just with the way the golf course is designed it's visually intimidating and the trees kind of overhanging and there's a lot of stuff going on, so he's helped me to sort of make the courses -- keep me focused on where I'm trying to go, and that's been helpful so far.

Q. Why did you think it didn't necessarily fit your eye?

CAMERON TRINGALE: I can't explain it. I didn't see a lot of the shots. My ball flight, I've got to fight it on a few holes. I tend to play left to right, but a lot of the tee shots and particularly some of the tougher ones want you to hit it right to left, so it was going through that battle internally of should I hit what this hole wants or the shot I'm comfortable with. And I'm going with the latter.

Q. Phil does have significant experience out here at Sentosa. Did you guys have a strategy session and kind of picking his brain to a certain degree?

CAMERON TRINGALE: Not really. We played nine holes, and he maybe said a couple sentences about the golf course. I don't think he even listens to his own advice anyway. He says this is a course you've got to plot around, you're going to have a lot of mid to long irons into these greens, so you've just got to kind of play steady, and he probably goes at every flag.

But that's what I'm trying to do; I'm trying to take his advice.

Q. You putted lights out today, and Phil had mentioned a couple of days ago your putting prowess. Can you talk about what it's like just hanging with Phil and helping him with his game, him helping with your game? It's obvious you're trending in the right direction.

CAMERON TRINGALE: As far as hanging with Phil, he's a lot of fun. He brings out sort of a fun, playful side I think in all of us. He's always challenging us to be our best and to get better at things. When we are good at something, he's your biggest fan. He's very encouraging and positive, and starting to believe he might be right on a few of those.

Q. Any plans tonight for team building? Are you guys going out to dinner? Are you going to take things singularly?

CAMERON TRINGALE: We're going to probably have to regroup after the rain delay and see if -- we did have plans to go do something in town. We'll have to regroup and pull straws and see what we land on.

Q. We've got an early tee time tomorrow.

CAMERON TRINGALE: That's right, that did change, as well, so we've probably lost four hours with all that, but we'll see.
