Quick Quotes

Q. How are you feeling after this week?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, pretty exhausted. It was a big week to get through with lots of commitments and the fans. It's so cool to have those people behind you, but it's also really draining, as well, having the ovations on every green and tee. Yeah, it was an epic week but a very tiring week.

Q. You at least know what you're in for. Does that make a difference having done it?

CAM SMITH: I really hope it's bigger to be honest. I think we do more stuff, get more people in here. There's obviously a want in Australia, I think, for really high-quality golf, and I think the fans here really enjoyed what LIV offers. Yeah, there's no reason why we can't make it bigger.

Q. Will it fast track the ability to get two? Everyone is talking about two. Do you think it's going to fast track it?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, it's been, I guess, spoken about for a few months now. I'm not sure how far along we are. I really stay out of those conversations, to be honest. It would be so cool to -- part of my reason to play was to have an event here, and if we got two, I think that would make so much difference.

Q. Is there one or two things that you think you learned about yourself this week?

CAM SMITH: No, not really. I think I did a really good job of actually just playing golf with all the outside noise. There was a lot of good on the golf course. There was a lot of putts that could have gone in. To finish up the week wherever I did, I think fourth or fifth, I think it was a really good effort.

Like I said, with the fans around, but also I had so many missed opportunities that could have gone in. Usually that leads to frustrating weeks where you end up down the leaderboard, but it makes you stay on top of it and play some really high-quality golf.

Q. This seems like more than what happened on the leaderboard, though. This was a much bigger thing and more impactful, though, don't you think?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Q. As a player you're probably not looking at it like that.

CAM SMITH: Yeah, this is part of the reason why we play. We want to play in front of big crowds that get excited and put golf clubs in the hands of kids that one day want to be out here. Yeah, it's a massive step in the right direction for us.

Q. There was so much interest in this concept in Australia, do you think there might be a chance at the end of the year you'd be playing for a championship or something like that?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, I'm not sure on that one. I mean, I think if we come down here, just given the travel, it would have to be back-to-back weeks. But yeah, I guess we just wait and see. I think this is a perfect time of year to play golf in Australia. The weather is perfect. The greens are starting to get those like kind of winter browns and get really firm and fast. I think it's a perfect time to play, but I get what you're saying.

Q. Did you feel more pressure to be in form this week than even when you came here for the PGA?

CAM SMITH: Yeah, I would say just about the same. I think every time I come home for the last four or five years I've wanted to play really good golf. I've been fortunate enough to play plenty. This is another tick for me as far as golf is concerned down here.
