Harbour Town Golf Links

Quick Quotes

Q. Mark, good playing. Second round 66, including three birdies in your first four holes. How important was it to get off to a good start like that today?

MARK HUBBARD: Yeah, it was important. I think that's a scorable part of the course, and it's very calm this morning, really all day. Greens were a little softer, then they started to firm up a little in the afternoon.

I think you've got to just kind of get off to that start out here with two of the three par-5s in the first six holes. Yeah, I felt good.

Q. I talked to you on Wednesday on the putting green. You weren't feeling well, ended up withdrawing from the Pro-Am. Is that behind you at this point? Was it tough yesterday at all for you?

MARK HUBBARD: I don't know, it was a weird thing. I woke up fine, and then around noon I just started feeling really bad. Just super achy. I don't know if it was just a 24-hour bug or something.

Fortunate enough, I got some rest. I think I slept like 15 or 16 hours on Wednesday to Thursday, and I felt pretty good yesterday. So it hasn't really been a factor.

Q. The only place you've really stumbled so far is on 16. Can you describe the challenge of that hole?

MARK HUBBARD: Yeah, I don't really like to draw the ball with my driver, and that's the one hole you kind of have to out here. So it just doesn't fit my eye.

Today I figured out that right side where I hit it isn't really a bad spot. Unfortunately, it was a little wet over there. I just kind of got it a little heavy.

But I think all in all, not trying to draw it and just kind of hit it down the middle with my low cut, and if I happen to find that right rough it's okay.

I think even in the practice rounds I might have hit three or four balls over in that left junk over there. So just one of those holes that doesn't fit my eye, but I'll get it going eventually.

Q. You're done fairly early today. This is a place has known for TOUR pros to enjoy themselves and relax. What do the next 24 hours look like for you before you tee off tomorrow?

MARK HUBBARD: I'm going to go putt a little. Wasn't starting it online as much as I was yesterday. But then probably go to the beach with my little girls.
