ROLEX MONTE-CARLO MASTERS

April 12, 2023

Lorenzo Musetti

Principality of Monaco

Press Conference

L. MUSETTI/L. Nardi

6-0, 6-0

THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.

Q. So three sets all in a row, it's not common. How has it been for you?

LORENZO MUSETTI: Yeah, for sure yesterday was a solid performance by my side and today even better. I feel like here in Monte-Carlo I feel like the energy from the crowd and the energy from the site.

I mean, I live here, so I feel at home. I'm staying home, and it's really nice to come back home, to have dinner with my girlfriend, to relax. Maybe those kind of things help me to find the right balance inside the court.

Hopefully tomorrow I will stay like this, especially on the mental part and will be probably one of the toughest match in the draw, so hopefully I can be ready for tomorrow.

Q. You feel you are back? Because after a quite difficult beginning of the season, now you feel your game is with the click of Monaco, it's just that or...

LORENZO MUSETTI: I mean, I wouldn't say that, because I'm still a little scared to say that I'm completely back, but for sure I feel like I'm performing pretty well with my tennis. Today I was feeling every shot.

I'm feeling really, really good and in physical condition. I think I did step forward from the last month because I worked hard. Even with last season, the last months, I think I worked and I practiced a lot, so probably the results they are paying off now. Hopefully the clay season could be a comeback for myself.

Q. Novak was saying yesterday that he needs some matches on clay because he needs that. Do you think you can take advantage of that, because he's not maybe ready on clay? How do you see his game?

LORENZO MUSETTI: Yeah, for sure everyone needs matches when we change surface, but he's still No. 1 in the world. He started the year I think pretty well, winning another Australian Open (smiling), you know, winning a lot of matches.

Even if being out for a month or even more, he's still Novak. So I have to be ready to beat the No. 1 in the world, not one guy who needs to prepare the clay season.

So I think I have to enter the court with the right mentality, with the right mindset to beat the No. 1 in the world, not to beat someone who is preparing the clay season.
