MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 9, 2023

Brooks Koepka

Augusta, Georgia, USA

TV Interview

Q. Brooks, first of all, thank you for the time. Winning major championships is not easy. You've done it four times. What would you say was the biggest challenge for you today?

BROOKS KOEPKA: You know, I just kind of played average, and I didn't get any good breaks, either. For that ball to stay there on 9, it could have been -- it would have been a tap-in pretty much. The par-3s, on the front I hit good shots, they just ended up in some tough spots. That's how it goes sometimes.

But I didn't feel like I played too bad, and then obviously just tried to give it a run there at the end, but just wasn't good enough. Congrats to Jon.

Q. A really nice moment of sportsmanship with you and Jon on that hole. What did you say to him?

BROOKS KOEPKA: I just said congrats. It's super awesome to see; he's been playing really well for a while now, and to get a green jacket is pretty special, so enjoy it.

Q. There's been a lot of change for you. You've been fighting through injury. You're now healthy. You've chosen to switch tours, all of these things happening in your life. How good did it feel to be back here in the mix and get that feeling back that you've been talking about that you're kind of addicted to getting back to that space?

BROOKS KOEPKA: Yeah, look, I love it. Just some days you have it, some days you don't, and today wasn't one of those.

But I feel good, and I expect to be there the other three.
