MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 9, 2023

Seamus Power

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. What's your final verdict on that? You had a bit of a run there.

SEAMUS POWER: Worn out. Yeah, I actually hit it well early, and I got a couple of bad breaks. Got it back, and then made a couple of mistakes and just took the wind out of my sails there.

It's tough out there today. It really is. There were some shots that were just you get a little gust of wind that you just don't expect. Even on the 2nd, a lovely little wedge shot in there, and the thing flies, like airmails the green like it was almost straight down and it couldn't be straight down. A couple of those.

It was one of those days that you needed to have your best and I didn't. That's what happened out there today.

Q. Was it exciting to be out there today on a Sunday afternoon, the roars and all that stuff?

SEAMUS POWER: It does, like you're kind of -- you're on the front there and hearing the roars. You're coming down 6 and hearing the roars on 15 and 16, and you want to be a part of it. It's a lot of incentive to try to get back in that position.

It wasn't my week this week, but hung in there, I suppose, the best I could. See what I can do, hopefully get back the next year and give it another run.

Q. Take some positives from the whole thing?

SEAMUS POWER: I was very pleased with how I putted this year. I can't remember, I didn't make a lot of birdies this year whereas this year, obviously I made some mistakes, I was a little looser, but I read the greens very well and saw some of those higher lines much clearer, which was very encouraging. That always gives you hope you can make birdies and that sort of stuff.

Obviously a lot of room for improvement, but one of those tough days.

Q. Looking forward to Hilton Head and then Wells Fargo?

SEAMUS POWER: That's it exactly. Two weeks off. I haven't had two weeks off since December. So it will be nice.

Q. Next major?

SEAMUS POWER: I've heard great things about the course. It's going to be interesting up there. It's still early in the season that part of the world, like in May, but we'll see. Absolutely any time you're going to be in a major, you're going to be excited about it.

Q. Good for Europeans' Ryder Cup team to see Jon Rahm?

SEAMUS POWER: Yeah. It's going to be a helluva finish, obviously. We were keeping an eye on that. Mickelson posted 8 today? And 65. It's going to be brilliant.

Get back and watch the last three or four holes. It's going to be interesting.
