MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 9, 2023

Patrick Cantlay

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Tell us about how the day started, how it felt. Cold, still, wet.

PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, cold, windy. I think today's going to be windier than yesterday, and with the wet conditions, the golf ball won't go very far.

Q. What is your adjustment for that?

PATRICK CANTLAY: Just can't really max out any of your yardages. You have to hit almost three-quarter shots all the way around.

Q. Tell us what you hit at 16.

PATRICK CANTLAY: 16 was a 7-iron, which usually goes mid-180s and today went 165.

Q. So the ball's really not flying that far?

PATRICK CANTLAY: Not into the wind. Like I said, it's so cold you're just not going to get your full numbers.

Q. Do you feel like you're back in the tournament, that you have good chance at least to maybe get yourself near there?

PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah. I mean, I think I'm close. It depends how they finish up this round and obviously how they play on Sunday. It's definitely a two-man race at this point. But I'll do my best to post as low a round as I can.

Game feels good. We'll see how many putts I can make.
