MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 7, 2023

Sepp Straka

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. I know the finish wasn't what you wanted, but how did you feel about the day otherwise?

SEPP STRAKA: I played pretty well for most of the day. Some pretty stupid mistakes, especially on the last three holes. The three-putts were just kind of -- yeah, just bad mistakes you shouldn't really do out here. But other than the mistakes, I felt like I played pretty well, hit the ball pretty well, so looking forward to the weekend.

Q. You have played really well 12, 13, 15, birdied those the last couple days. What is it about that stretch that you feel comfortable about playing?

SEPP STRAKA: I think without the wind, we haven't had any wind the last couple days, so without the wind I think those are very gettable holes. 15, without any into, you can get to in two; 13, you kind of hug the corner and get there in two; 12, if you hit a good shot you've got a short birdie putt if you hit that green.

Yeah, all those holes without wind I think are pretty gettable, and I was able to take advantage.

Q. Any super shot or especially good shot on that stretch today?

SEPP STRAKA: The iron shot into 13 was really good. I kind of had to draw it around some trees with the wind off my left. That was probably the best shot I hit around that stretch.

Q. You looked real comfortable out there. Do you just like this place? What is it?

SEPP STRAKA: I love this place, yeah. I think everybody can agree with that. It's a special place. Anytime you can get out here, it's a special time.

Yeah, I do love the place. I am comfortable, but there's just danger looking everywhere, so you've always got to be pretty careful, too.

Q. You Georgia guys have a special little game aside who's going to be the low Bulldog?

SEPP STRAKA: We usually do the games in the practice rounds. We used to have a bogey free game out here, but then too many people were shooting bogey-free scores. Yeah, no, we usually keep the games to the practice rounds.

Q. The last two days, how do they compare with previous Masters and what are you most proud of?

SEPP STRAKA: I mean, it's special just like last year. Every year is a little different. But yeah, just like last year, it's just such a special place. These two days, the weather has been perfect. It's been hot, no wind, so it's been fun to play the course in those conditions.

Yeah, anytime you can play, you've got to cherish it.
