MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 3, 2023

Abraham Ancer

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Abe, how's it been so far? Game feel good? How did you feel out there?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Course is in great shape as always. Weather got a little dicey there for a little bit, but it's really nice now. The course is looking great.

We had a nice little match with some friends. It was a nice day.

This is the kind of place that I've already practiced quite a bit but I want to keep on practicing. But so far, really good.

Q. Is it a little bit different this year? Last year you were obviously playing a little bit more tournaments coming into this week. Now you guys have had, I guess, three tournaments this season so far with LIV?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Correct.

Q. Is it a little bit different maybe not having played as much coming into the Masters as opposed to other years, and how have you adapted to that?

ABRAHAM ANCER: I haven't really thought about it that much. My body feels good. My game, my swing feels good. So I don't think I'm going to feel different. Maybe even a little fresher body-wise.

Like I said, I feel good. I don't think it's something that -- definitely I don't feel out of form. I didn't play my best in the last two events, but I think that was just more mental errors, not the game itself. So I feel like I've got to be in a good spot mentally here to do that, obviously to perform. But the game itself feels really nice.

Q. Have you always been a guy to play the week before a major or no?

ABRAHAM ANCER: I've tried both, and I've had good and bad results with both. I haven't found yet like I have to play the week before. It definitely doesn't hurt. I like seeing where my game is at. As long as I'm not tired coming into the week, I feel good physically.

For me I feel like this week it was good for me to play last week. Working on some things, it was good to see what I did last week with those kind of swing -- not changes, but like just little feelings here and there.

Q. What's your experience of the sort of reception you got from your former PGA TOUR colleagues?

ABRAHAM ANCER: It's been great. Like I said, I played with three guys that I haven't seen in a long time, and everybody has been really nice.

I'm not a high drama guy. I get along with everybody. It's just golf. We're all good friends, and it's been great.

Q. Wear your team shirt?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Yeah, I guess so. This is what I wear -- well, I guess they're slightly different, but yeah. I like it.

Q. Do you have a different color for the rest of the week, or is it the same, going to be the same color?

ABRAHAM ANCER: No, I've got different shirts. Different shirts and stitching and all that stuff.

Q. Are all of them going to be Fireballs?

ABRAHAM ANCER: On the chest, yeah.

Q. What's the biggest adjustment between Orange County National last week to this week? What are the differences?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Well, the grass is different. There's a lot of different stuff. They don't look anywhere near the same. The greens were firmish and pretty fast. So you have to have a little bit of imagination out there too.

But they're completely different golf courses. So I'm not banking on any of that input. It's just we have three days to get adjusted, and I think most of us, we've been here quite a bit of time.

So that's what you have to do. We have to get adjusted to a new place every week.

Q. When's the last time you played a 72-hole tournament? Saudi?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Saudi. Ended up pretty good.
