MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 4, 2023

Harrison Crowe

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Is it true you've got a ritual with your dad that every time you make a birdie, you something?

HARRISON CROWE: Yeah, there's birdie beers.

Q. Do you have some sort of ritual with your dad, he has to drink a beer?

HARRISON CROWE: It's a birdie beer rule for most people in the house this week, yes.

Q. Does that count for practice rounds?

HARRISON CROWE: I think they're doing it for themselves. More beers than birdies, that's the rule on tournament days.

Q. (No microphone.)

HARRISON CROWE: Kind of. The idea is to get these guys having as good a time as I am without getting themselves in trouble as well.

Q. Are the nerves there, Harrison?

HARRISON CROWE: The nerves are there. The excitement is kind of overruling it a little bit. I'm sure the nerves are overruled a little bit more with the excitement on the 1st tee on Thursday.

I'm just soaking it all in and also still trying to just remind myself it's just a tournament and I'm here to do a job as well. Just got to prepare myself.

Q. How cool is it to pick the brains of Adam Scott and Cam Smith and play the practice rounds with them?

HARRISON CROWE: It's awesome. They both have pretty good track records around here. It's nice to pick their brains a little bit. For the most part, we had fun out there. It was just kind of getting to know them a little bit better.

It was awesome. The camaraderie around here this week. Got to play with J. Day and Min yesterday. It's been awesome. It's been an awesome week so far, and it's only the start of it.

Q. What stood out to you today that you could maybe emulate or take into your own game?

HARRISON CROWE: I just notice how smart those boys are within their games. They really back themselves in at (indiscernible).

That's probably the biggest thing I noticed with those guys and something I can definitely mirror for sure.

Q. How close was the shot on 12? Was it a pretty good shot?

HARRISON CROWE: That was cool. Probably about a half a foot. Half a foot. It was nice having the crowd behind me. It was pretty loud. It was awesome. Didn't hit the water.

So the cheer over a boo is pretty good.

Q. Is there one thing that they said to you today that maybe stuck out? Either of them?

HARRISON CROWE: Yeah, Scottie said today you don't have to do too much. If you put the ball in the fairway off the tee you don't have to really shape it too much. Just drive the ball solid. You're going to have many opportunities coming in and there's going to be pins you have to stay away from. But if you're in the fairway, you really can't go too long.

Q. Harrison, can you talk about how you're balancing all the family and friends that are in town with trying to keep this as much as possible a normal tournament, including your prep, your practice. How do you not get lost in that practice facility just enjoying the conditions out there?

HARRISON CROWE: I think having the guys there this week and all my family there, it kind of makes things a little more normal. Obviously fresh faces constantly.

I think having those guys around, it makes it a lot more cool. You can definitely get lost in those practice facilities and having people there and just wanting to practice.

But definitely starting to understand that the week hasn't started yet. I just need to do my work. Yeah, just do my work and almost get out of here and just go relax and socialize and do what I normally would do.

Q. I know this is your first time here playing in the Masters, conditions a little bit damp, little bit softer. Does this play into your hands? Do you prefer something firm and fast?

HARRISON CROWE: Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if on Thursday it will be really firm and fast with how they can really change out the golf course.

I mean, I played it how it was today. If it's that way come around 1:00, then perfect. But I'm certainly expecting it to play a lot firmer, especially around the greens.

I do love firm and fast greens, and I don't know anyone who doesn't. So I'm excited.

Q. The Amateur Dinner last night, how was that being on the grounds of the property here?

HARRISON CROWE: Yeah, it's awesome. I mean, they're there for us, so it was such a special night for them to kind of highlight our achievement to be here as well. It was amazing to meet some of the amateur legends as well there.

It was awesome. The food was great. Probably the best dessert I've ever had here. It was amazing.

Q. What did you have?

HARRISON CROWE: It was like a lemon tart kind of thing. It was -- no words.

Q. (No microphone.)

HARRISON CROWE: No, she doesn't make dessert. She makes good butter chicken apparently, but I didn't have it last night. I was over here.
