LPGA DRIVE ON CHAMPIONSHIP

March 23, 2023

Peiyun Chun

Gold Canyon, Arizona, USA

Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Peiyun Chun after the first round here at the Drive On Championship. What's the best part of your round today? You had really good final holes there. What was it about your round that was working so well for you?

PEIYUN CHUN: Me and my caddie, we work with my putting. We do a lot of work with my putting, so last year my green putt was very high but my putting is not very good. Ranking is not very good, you can see.

So we work hard with my putter and we just did very well today.

Q. And this is your first time at Superstition Mountain. What is it about this course that you found easy or difficult today?

PEIYUN CHUN: I think the course -- the key is second shot. You have to know the yardage and how much it will roll the green, release how much, so that is pretty important.

Q. What was like hard about the course today? Is it long? Short? Soft?

PEIYUN CHUN: It's pretty soft today, so I think the score will be very low today.

Uh-huh.

Q. This is only the first round, but still at the top of the leaderboard. How good does that feel first event of the season?

PEIYUN CHUN: Feels very good because we work so hard with my caddie and we just commit every shot and do everything we can do.

And the score just come out, so I'm very happy.

Q. What's the last venue have played on the LPGA before this one?

PEIYUN CHUN: It's in LA the last one. I forgot --

Q. It's been a while.

PEIYUN CHUN: Yeah, I play very bad. Because it's in -- I try a lot of new irons just get ready for next year, but it didn't work so I missed cut.

Q. So it's been a little while. How good does is it feel to be back out here and play so well?

PEIYUN CHUN: Because this year for me start very late, so I can prepare earlier. We have couple tournament in Taiwan, so I think we get ready and play pretty well with myself.
