THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP

March 11, 2023

Min Woo Lee

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA

TPC Sawgrass

Quick Quotes - Round 2

Q. Just a few holes to finish up this morning. How did you find the conditions out there?

MIN WOO LEE: They were nice. I mean, hit the ball as far as the other day's, which I think I was just a little amped up. Greens were receptive and a bit slower than yesterday, obviously, from afternoon to morning, which I didn't really take into place enough.

Yeah, I left three of those putts kind of just past the hole and not firm enough.

But it was good. Solid three holes. It could have gone worse. I had four or five really good shots, so happy with that.

Q. I know that these days kind of happen in professional golf. Did you feel like it was kind of a good time to stop the play yesterday for you personally in your round? Do you wish you could have continued?

MIN WOO LEE: A bit of both. It is what it is, so you can't really do much about that. Don't really want to play in rain, and it was bucketing down like 20 minutes after they called it.

I mean, you can't really ask for much more, but it would have been nice. I would have been happy to finish and then have a rest, but those things happen, and you've got to adapt to it.

Q. Where do you feel like your game is as we head into the weekend here at THE PLAYERS?

MIN WOO LEE: Really good. I'm playing really solid. Other than last week, I've had a really good stretch of golf and feel confident as ever. Hitting the right shots and swinging it good, and it's nice when the ball listens to you.

It's helpful.

Q. Where do you feel like that confidence is coming from in your game? What's the strongest part of your game right now do you feel like?

MIN WOO LEE: I think if everything is on it's not too bad. It's pretty solid. From the start there and when I played in Europe, I just didn't really give too much pressure to myself. I just was going to go out and just go play, and if I didn't play well, I would have had a rest in the off-season but ended up playing really good. I think just going out there and having fun. There's been huge crowds over the last three months, and I like to play in front of them, and I like to hit some shots, especially this course where you get to shape it a lot.

Yeah, just not putting too much pressure on myself and just having fun.

Q. Does that help you when you get to a big event like this, just having that attitude of having fun and not putting too much pressure on yourself?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, for sure. I think it's a bit of both. I know in the back of my head I need to play well to get into a couple tournaments, but I think a little bit of urgency and also just -- it's all right if you have a bad shot. It's THE PLAYERS. It's not going to be easy. I think just having the mentality of bad shots are going to happen, and just keep plodding along and doing the right things, and hopefully a good stretch will come.

Q. What will the next few hours look like before you tee off?

MIN WOO LEE: I think I'll go back to my room and just hang out for a couple hours, a few hours. I think I'm going to be towards the end there, so I've still got a few hours' rest, so if I can I think I'll catch up on a bit of sleep, but if not, just hang out.
