Quick Quotes

Q. (No translation.)

SUNGJAE IM: I had remaining nine holes today. When I was starting the third round I was kind of tired. But today the weather was good, no wind. So I was like, I could do this. Maybe third round pretty good. Birdies from the beginning, so I had a good start and I was trying to keep my focus to the last hole and that's how it turned out.

Q. You hit 5-under in the first half. How was it different from the previous rounds?

SUNGJAE IM: So, on the first day my back was a little bit stiff. So I had some difficulties in the first and second round. I was kind of loosening it and healing it. And my back got better. Overall, this whole tournament my tee shot was okay, actually. The putting was something that we need to work on. My coach and I was trying something new and it kind of worked out and turned out great today.

Q. Which hole, which shot do you remember the most from today's round?

SUNGJAE IM: The last hole. The 9th hole. It ran into the bushes and I was thinking, like let's just put it on, put it on near the hole. I hit a good shot and I ended with a good putt, a good save. So that was good.

Q. On the other hand, something you didn't like from today?

SUNGJAE IM: The 8th hole, where it hit some off to the sideways. But I hit good save and it was okay to me.

Q. Did you have the back issue before you came in here and what treatment did you get before the week to help you out?

SUNGJAE IM: Not before the tournament. It was a little bit stiff. It wasn't like I had an injury or something. It was a little bit stiff, so I put something on it to make heat and then some massage machine. I also took some rest, didn't do anything special other than that.

Q. You mentioned about your putting. Could you elaborate what was wrong with your putting and did you find something or do something different?

SUNGJAE IM: I felt like my shaft was a little behind so I brought it forward and then it wasn't on and off like before and it was kind of consistent after that.

Q. So it was more like this versus this (indicating.)

SUNGJAE IM: No, just setup.

Q. (No translation.)

SUNGJAE IM: This course has a lot of difficult holes, so I'm not expecting it to be as good as today. I'm not taking it for granted. Hopefully, the weather is good and I can finish it well tomorrow.
