ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

March 1, 2023

Amanda Butler

Amari Robinson

Daisha "Nunu" Bradford

Greensboro, North Carolina, USA

Clemson Tigers

Postgame Press Conference

Clemson 71, Pitt 53

AMANDA BUTLER: Just have so much respect for Lance and Pitt and how hard those guys play. We knew it was going to be a tough, physical battle, and I'm really proud of the way that our team responded to that and really rose to the challenge. Some great individual players on their team that you don't like seeing them on the other sideline, but just thought we had tremendous veteran leadership.

Obviously two of my veterans are sitting here with me, but also Hannah Hank having -- I don't keep up with stats great, but having her best statistical game, especially in the scoring column, of the season. That's what you expect from your seniors is when the moment is the biggest, then they bring their best.

Just a really great overall collective effort for us.

Q. You talked about Hannah having an inside presence. Outside shooting was good today, too, at the three-point range. Can you talk about that and the openings they gave you on that?

AMARI ROBINSON: Just knowing that the high post is going to be an area that we can get the ball to and just being able to find our open teammates that were in the corner or just those quick boomerang passes back when they were trying to scramble to get to the ball. So I think our team just being ready and open really helped.

DAISHA "NUNU" BRADFORD: Just being ready for the shot, we knew they was going to be there. We wasn't emphasizing the three ball as much, but we still was prepared for it, so we just was ready for those shots and ready to knock them down.

Q. Coach, what do you have to do differently against Carolina tomorrow night?

AMANDA BUTLER: Well, the first thing that we've got to do is just be elite in our recovery, and then we've got to get back to studying. It's crazy in the tournament. We're so familiar with everyone, but some of these teams, it's been weeks since we prepared for them.

We'll have a great scout. We'll have a great game plan. But what matters most is our players getting off their feet and hydrating, getting a good meal, and then we'll get to scouting.

But we have a tremendous amount of respect for Courtney and her squad and we know they'll challenge us in some specific ways, and we'll be ready.

AMARI ROBINSON: Yeah, I think just like Coach Butler said, having that time span of us not playing one another. But it's the ACC, so we've just got to do what we have, play our best, go big or go home.
