Q. We talked yesterday that you traditionally play well. Here today, obviously the same thing. How was it out there? How was the crowd? Obviously very supportive of you.

CARLOS ORTIZ: Yeah, it was great. I love when I play in front of my family and friends and just Mexicans overall or Latins because there was a lot of people from other places. It gives me that extra, I don't know what you call it, but I just tried to find a way to make the things happen. I don't want to let them know. I know a lot of people traveled from far to come here. That's always my goal, just to find a way to make it happen.

Q. How many times were you looking at the leaderboard and seeing how the Fireballs were doing?

CARLOS ORTIZ: I tried to look a couple to see how my teammates were playing, but it's the first day, and you don't really have to look at anything. It's just try to play and make the least score possible.

Q. Did it play different than it did in November?

CARLOS ORTIZ: For sure. I mean, the greens are firmer, faster, fairways are narrower. The wind is just probably a touch harder. It's definitely a better test of golf.
