Royal Greens Golf and Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Matt, 63 today, including going out in 29. What was it feeling like there out on the front nine?

MATTHEW WOLFF: It felt easy. It felt like I'm finally starting to hit my driver the way I'm looking to. It's such a weapon on this golf course when I'm hitting it where I want to. I'm having short clubs in and I can kind of attack these flags. I felt really good with every part of my game.

But I think it was the putting. I made quite a few putts out there today and didn't the first couple of days. I think that was definitely the difference. It seemed like it all came together nicely for me today.

Q. Last year at this event you were tied sixth. What do you think it is that suits your game so well here?

MATTHEW WOLFF: I like the course. I think it's pretty demanding. Obviously there's a little bit of room, but I think you have to play in the right way and miss in the right spots.

It's definitely a course that you seem -- like when you first get on here, you feel like you can take it apart, but as soon as you start to play it a few more times, it definitely takes a bit more thought and patience around here.

I just like the way the holes set up to me, and I feel like, as I said, I can really attack it with driver, and if that's going well, I have some short clubs in.

Q. Moving day, you've certainly played yourself into contention. What's it going to take tomorrow?

MATTHEW WOLFF: I think the same as I did today. I've been focusing on having a good time out there, keeping it light and easy and let things come to me and not force things.

When I get thinking about my swing or where I'm at on the leaderboard or anything like that, that's when I get kind of panicked and a little more frustrated a little quicker and stuff like that.

For me it's trying to stay calm, be happy, have fun, and let it come to me. I know I have a game to come out and win, so if I do me and play the way I should, I might be on top. If not, I know I had a good week.

Q. I like the confidence. Well played today, and we'll see you tomorrow.

MATTHEW WOLFF: Thank you.
