AUSTRALIAN OPEN

January 23, 2023

Caroline Garcia

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Press Conference

M. LINETTE/C. Garcia

7-6, 6-4

THE MODERATOR: Caroline, a tough match today. Magda played pretty well. Just take us through your thoughts on the match.

CAROLINE GARCIA: She played a good match. She was solid, and she stayed focused on what she wanted to do. She was confident, probably since the good win she had last couple of days, and she went for it at the good moment. Something I was not able to do.

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. In tennis there are always wins and losses. What will you do to pull yourself through this loss?

CAROLINE GARCIA: I guess I need a little time, you know. It's very fresh loss. It's always hurting and always tough to go through.

I think the one in slams need a couple of more days to get over it and to be more cautious about what has been happening and keep working for it. I mean, she played a great match, and obviously I made some mistakes, and that hurt.

Q. Would you do anything differently next time?

CAROLINE GARCIA: Yeah, you always try to get the lesson about your losses and try to make better. Sometime it's difficult. Sometime it's not. Depends what I've been wrong, but you'll always try to learn from your mistakes.
